About Rotary Pollachi
In 1984 like-minded individuals who wanted to make a positive change in Pollachi and the world came to know about Rotary and its deeds They wanted to contribute to the society.
Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
Chartered on the 5th of March,1985 under the dynamic leadership of Rtn. Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, the Rotary Club of Pollachi has rendered yeomen service to the community for the past 34 years. Our club has
been proclaimed by many as one of the best Rotary Clubs in our region.Â
The Rotary Pollachi has never left a stone unturned when it comes to conceiving and executing projects with perfection. For more than three decades, community service projects, seminars, exhibitions and workshops organized by the club has received accolades by the citizens of Pollachi and the Rotary world.
Our Pilot Project
A Jewel in the crown of the Rotary Club of Pollachi is the Rotary Electric Crematorium which was dedicated to the people more than two decades ago. This pioneering project has been a great source of inspiration to other Rotary Clubs in creation of such Crematoriums.This was the first such project done by a Rotary Club in the world and the first in a taluk centre in the entire country. The latest addition is a state -of-the – art LPG furnace. Free cremation is also done for the needy.
For Community
Another feather to its cap is a beautiful community centre built to aid service activities of Rotary. The centre houses a large hall, vocational training centre for women, room for delegates and a seminar hall for workshop for differently abled children.Shaped on the contours of an “Ambalam” (Kerala Temple) the centre shall go a long way in extending services to the common man.
For Students & Children
Rotary Pollachi has been a pioneer in executing projects which have been game changers in the concept of service. Rotary Pollachi is currently building a subscription-free library and renovating the attached children’s park, to be unveiled in Rotary year 2019 – 20 for the public. The project aims to cater general readers, children and young students in preparation for their academic learning and employment. The plan for part time coaching classes to train the aspiring individuals for public services examinations is also on the anvil.
Promoting Health and Sanity
Rotary Pollachi has done enormous number of service projects like aiding for education of needy children, donating cloths for poor and blind, doing medical camps regularly, helping in medical expenses for needy, aiding for differentially abled, constructing classrooms, toilets for schools and so on.
